Clindamycin Injection – Clintira injection contains the drug Clindamycin, which is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. It works by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins that bacteria require to perform vital functions. As a result, it prevents the bacteria from growing and the infection from spreading. It is used to treat skin infections such as acne (pimples), the abdomen, bone, skin, heart, and soft tissues. It is also used to treat post-surgical infections.

Before taking Clindamycin Injection, tell your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems, bowel (intestine) problems, or if you have ever had bloody diarrhoea caused by antibiotics. Before using it, pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor.

Direction to use of Clindamycin Injection

Clindamycin Injection is administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional as a drip (intravenous infusion) or as an injection directly into a vein or muscle. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose for you. You should take this medication on a regular basis at evenly spaced intervals as directed by your doctor. Even if you feel better, do not skip any doses and complete the entire course of treatment. Stopping the medication too soon may cause the infection to return or worsen.

Possible Side Effects of Clindamycin Injection

Pseudomembranous colitis, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, maculopapular rash, thrombophlebitis, and abnormal liver function tests are the most common side effects of this medication. Some people may experience temporary redness or pain at the injection site; these are usually minor, but notify your doctor if they bother you or do not go away.
